Almost Everything You Need to Know about Jeannette Tibbetts* Jeannette Tibbetts is, first and foremost, an administrative expert--being on the typing-side of
a keyboard for over 29 years. She has extensive experience in office support, with a strong administrative background,
and has worked through the ranks of legal typist through office manager, stopping at the sales department along the way.
She brings a wide-ranging knowledge of office systems, including recent advanced communications technology, and has a
strong desire to continue learning, which is imperative in today’s constantly-changing technological world. Most
recently, Jeannette has become familiar with Google Apps and various social networking venues, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. She's also dabbled in the blogging arena
with her general thoughts on various contemporary topics, including starting a business and social networking (check out Do Not Waste Your Time).
For the last 13 years, while raising and homeschooling her two children, Jeannette has worked exclusively with two small businesses--typing business correspondence and proposals, as well as preparing business plans and presentations, an intensive training manual, many press releases and other marketing paraphernalia, and reviewing and installing appropriate software. Prior to this, Jeannette was the office manager for Strategic Networks Consulting, Inc., a network consulting company, which grew from a start-up to a multimillion-dollar global business. Jeannette was the first employee and enjoyed the opportunity to perform all the tasks needed to start up a new company. As new employees were hired, Jeannette managed the secretarial staff as well as assisted the president, which included extensive travel arrangements as well as presentation preparation for high-end seminars. Throughout the 1980's, Jeannette worked for Condyne, Inc, a design-build construction company. She started as the only secretary for a small sales force that consisted of a vice president, a sales manager and three salespeople. As the company grew, the sales force increased to include a total of six salespeople and two marketing people; Jeannette managed the new sales secretary as well as assisted the vice president of sales. With the savings and loan crisis and the end of the real estate boom in the mid 1980s, Condyne’s divisions filed for various bankruptcies. Jeannette was one of the final-remaining employees and helped carry the property management group through Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Jeannette's first "real" job was with Driscoll & Davis, a small law firm. She attended Cape Cod Community College and received an associate's degree in secretarial sciences; over the next 29 years, Jeannette continuously strived to perfect existing and learn new skills. She enrolled in Northeastern University's evening classes, as well as took various computer repair and software classes, and actively attended many business workshops, seminars and conferences. Even today, Jeannette leaps at any opportunity to gain additional knowledge of business systems and new technology. She has recently attended classes on topics ranging from blogging to search engine optimization, from attracting clients to the legal and accounting aspects of setting up small businesses. And she has successfully completed two online classes to learn website design, and one online class to learn grantwriting. Currently, as the ultimate solopreneur, Jeannette is involved in the day-to-day running of JTypePlus, which is a virtual assistant business that provides secretarial support to small businesses and associations. At this time she provides virtual assistance to Dimensions design & wellness studio, inc.,, a progressive hair salon/spa, GB Restoration, a church restoration/renovation contractor, and Earthwork Programs, a nature-based education program, as well as to Swordclass, a medieval and historical fencing instructor and game maker. *but didn't know whom to ask... |

"Having a virtual assistant makes it possible for me to work on getting jobs and supervising the jobs while proposals and marketing gets done with very little of my involvement." Gregory Burgess, GB Restoration "...how important you have been in getting this firm off the ground and helping it grow." "...you continue to be a key asset to the continued success..." Nicholas Lippis, Strategic Networks Consulting, Inc. "I would recommend Jeannette to any company that requires excellent secretarial skills as well as administrative and organizational skills." Frederick M. O'Neill, Condyne, Inc. |
